Raize the Roof

One of our favourite people to work with is Bonnie from Pop Media, so as soon as she got in contact with us about this project we were really excited. We’ve known Bonnie since our days selling handmade jewellery at the Hustle & Scout Markets in Canberra - many hours spent together in aircraft hangers and hotel carparks with possibly the best run (and definitively the most fashionable) market in Canberra at that time. Bonnie was running her own business, selling jewellery from Australian designers who had all the creative talent in the world but needed help with promotion and marketing. This is where Bonnie shines, and she’s now sold her jewellery business and runs her own Media and Marketing Consulting company.

Bonnie introduced us to Danielle and Lincoln, who have been working towards the Raize the Roof Charity House since 2015. The foundations for this dream were laid ten years before this, when Danielle travelled to Tanzania and had an eye-opening experience of the reality of life for many children in our world. Along with travelling to Botswana and her ongoing passion for Camp Quality, the desire to make a really significant difference grew with time. Building an entire house, and then auctioning it off for charity is an audacious goal, and I don’t think there are many people who could get a project of this size completed. The house is gorgeous, and when the right person falls in love with their new home, the added benefit is that all the proceeds will go towards helping kids who are a little less lucky, whether it’s due to illness or just the situation they were born into.

Working with charities is one of the long term goals we have, and so to be part of this project was amazing. The energy, passion and purpose of the RTR team, as well as all the designers and host, Jason Roses from Luton, was infectious.

The final result of the house, with the combined hard work of Danielle and Lincoln, their architect, builders, and the designers who brought it all together is just phenomenal, and shooting something in the style of “The Block” was a lot of fun (even if the biggest drama we had was a stolen plant!)

Update: Congratulations to Danielle and Lincoln! On Friday 24 May 2019 contracts were exchanged, marking the sale of the stunning four bedroom home in Bonner and fetching a price of $855,000.
